I have worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years, starting my career at Bradford & Bingley and then NatWest in the Private Banking division.
I discovered the world of compliance working for a large IFA in Brighton in early 2000 before spending 12 years as a Compliance Auditor for Bankhall and Threesixty Services LLP. Whilst at the latter of the two, I specialised in Investment Management audits to large well known Discretionary Management firms. I joined Premier in April 2014 after having looked after them as a consultant for 3 years.
I am the firms Compliance and Money Laundering Officer and sit on the Premier Benefit Solutions board. My days are never the same and I am never bored which is why I enjoy the role so much. Whether it’s sitting on Premier’s Investment Committee to writing policies and procedures, my role is varied and challenging and I thrive in this sort of environment.
Compliance is not a tick box exercise. It is about effective risk management and ensuring that clients are at the forefront of how we mitigate risks. It is also not business prevention. Working closely with consultants and staff to ensure they understand not only the FCA rules and guidance but also our internal processes and best practice is key to ensuring that good client outcomes are maintained.
I am a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, holding the Diploma in Financial Planning along with other specialist qualifications. I regularly attend compliance forums and roundtable events, putting my experience to good practice.
I have been a Brighton and Hove Albion fan for as long as I can remember. Combine that with working in Croydon and as a football fan you may know what that means!
I enjoy watching my daughter flourish and being into everything from playing the harmonica to loving my taste of rock music. My loves in life outside of my family (and football) are keeping fit, reading biographies and listening to music.
