Nicki is the HR and Recruitment Advisor here at Premier. She also helps lead our Mental Health and Wellbeing team.
We caught up with Nicki to discuss what her role involves, her favourite part of the job, why she chose to work for Premier and who her ultimate 3 dinner party guests would be…
I’m the HR and Recruitment Advisor, and my role is very varied which I really enjoy. No two days are the same, some days I could be assisting with interviews for our great roles, meeting new employees and getting them settled in, running payroll, helping with employee personal development plans, and generally making sure our employees are happy and engaged.
I also help to lead our Mental Health and Wellbeing team here at Premier which is very rewarding – we’ve set up training and helped to raise awareness of mental health issues, and we’re always looking at what more we can do to support our employees.
It might sound very cliché, but I really enjoy getting to speak to so many different and wonderful people. Premier’s culture is focused on our people, and so it’s great to support and develop people here.
There’s so many! Obviously the people working here make it such a great place to work, and really make Premier such a nice, supportive place to be.
Probably spaghetti bolognese – I love pasta and Italian food, and I could never get bored of this. I’m not sure about eating spaghetti for breakfast though!
Aside from the culture, I wanted a role where I could really develop and achieve my full potential. I’ve been here nearly 3 years now and I’m still learning every day. I also love that there’s a genuine focus on our people and our impact too, like our Diversity & Inclusion and CSR groups that I think are really great.
A tough one, but I think Michelle Obama (I loved her book “Becoming”) because she’s incredibly interesting, Adele because she could provide the music and also I think she’s got a great sense of humour, and Mary Berry to provide the food and GBBO secrets!
