Premier’s master trust, called The Premier DB Solution, has been established to offer a high quality alternative for employers who are suffering the increasingly onerous task of running a legacy defined benefit scheme for former employees. The Premier DB Solution is designed to offer the best possible service to members through Premier’s multi-award winning administration service whilst keeping costs to a minimum but ensuring the necessary governance requirements are maintained.
Whilst the sponsor will still be responsible for the funding of the benefits everything else is taken care of by Premier. Unlike most DB master trust solutions The Premier DB Solution is segregated and so there is no cross subsidy between participants. Employers can leave at any time without penalty.
The Trust is managed by a Trustee board consisting of three Premier representatives and three independent, professional Trustees, Capital Cranfield, BesTrustees and Capita Pension Trustees. The Board will ensure that The Premier DB Solution meets, or exceeds, all of the governance requirements of the regulators and legislators. This includes the Pension Regulator’s Master Trust Assurance Framework published on 1 May 2014.
The Premier DB Solution is available to all employers of whatever size and is designed to offer both sponsors and employees a safe home for accumulated benefits. We offer a competitive fee calculated as a percentage of the asset value and we are therefore able to make high quality pension provision available to schemes of all sizes.
