Cincinnati Machine Pension Plan
![]() | At Premier, we like to get behind and offer our support to all sorts of local activities and charities – as well as events further afield. Following the success of our sponsorship of Herbie last year, the Board of Directors have agreed this year to support Cavell Nurses Trust. |
Cavell Nurses Trust provides vital support to all UK nurses during very difficult times. They offer help to registered nurses, midwives, healthcare assistants, student nurses and retired nurses who have given a lifetime of caring and compassion.
Cavell Nurses Trust formally known as ‘Nurse Aid’ was originally set up in 1917 in memory a British Nurse, Edith Cavell who is celebrated for her work in Word War 1. She cared for wounded soldiers irrespective of nationality and was arrested after helping some 200 allied soldiers escape into neutral Holland. Edith Cavell was subsequently court marshalled, found guilty of treason and sentenced to death. Despite international pressure for mercy, she was shot by a firing squad.
We will be organising jointly several events to support Cavell Nurses Trust, initially a golf day on 30 April, as well our 10th anniversary at Lingfield on 1 June. There will also be a team running in the 10k event.
We thank our staff and clients for all of their support on this worthy cause. Donate now.
Our Sports and Social Committee meets every month to go through the ad hoc requests for financial support. We’ll always do our best to get involved and do what we can, although we regret we can’t meet every request.
Since 2009, we’ve been sponsoring the Musical Youth Company of Oxford (MYCO) – a theatre company for under 18’s. Our sponsorship has helped bring recent productions to the stage, including West Side Story and Jesus Christ Superstar.
For the 2012/13 season, we’re supporting two local sports teams:
Westcombe Park Rugby Club is based in Orpington, Kent and play in National Division 3 South East. We support the club through our membership of their business network. As members, we attend networking events, have our marketing materials available at the club and advertise in the various newsletters. You’ll also see our company name advertised on pitch-side banners. For more information go to www.westcombeparkrugby.co.uk.
Farnborough OBG FC is based in Farnborough, Kent and play in the Premier Division of the Kent County League. We back the club by advertising in the match programme and on the club website. To find out more, go to www.fobgfc.co.uk.
Premier have also supported Crystal Palace FC Foundation - "Fitter Fans Programme".
The programme currently targets males over 40, who feel over-weight and/or inactive.
The weekly sessions see fans weigh-in, attend presentations on health, fitness related topics and take part in fitness sessions at the club.
Funding has been secured from the Football League Discretionary Fund, GP London and partners local Croydon business The Premier Group that will see the Foundation further develop its successful Eagles Fitter Fans club by opening up the age range to run clubs for men aged 30 to 39 for the next 2 years.
